time to move some product

As I indicated in my last post, I've decided to try to sell more copies of A Sane Woman.

Here's a button:

Support independent publishing: buy this book on Lulu.

Well, okay, that isn't going to get a lot of sales all by itself. So, I decided to put up a page which includes some promotion. Raves from satisfied readers. Sample chapter. Character descriptions. That sort of thing.

First I looked into customizing the pages Lulu provides, but the book page doesn't allow a lot of customization, and the storefront page is really intended for people who have more than one book (and people in the forum often complain about the storefront page, how content gets screwed up or goes away, that sort of thing).

So, I figured it makes sense to let Lulu print the books (which they do very nicely), and I'll handle the web page stuff, which I've probably been doing longer than they have anyway (hey, movietown 2.0, which was the second version of the movie review site, will have been up for ten years in less than two months, and that wasn't even the first site I ever did).

But did I really want to create a new page from scratch? Not really, but then I had an idea. I could start a new blog, just for promoting the book (and others, if I should happen to publish any other books at some point in the future). With all the things I mentioned above: blurbs, sample chapter, etc.

So, that's what I'm going to do. It will take a little time (for one thing, I have to get permission to post the comments people have made), but maybe it will actually move a bit of product.

Now I just have to choose a theme...
