Stevie One is done. The final part starts here.

I am quite pleased with it. It is the story of a teenage girl who runs away from home, for very compelling reasons. She falls in with bad companions, and learns quite a bit about herself and the world. And, in the process, does something pretty remarkable.

It’s also a mystery, with the famous amateur detective Jan Sleet. And a love story.

As I always emphasize, despite the description I just gave, this is not a YA (young adult) novel. Too much smoking, for one thing. Gay characters. A bit of violence. Some people do bad things and don’t get punished. You know, kind of like life.

Also, it’s not a novel. It’s technically a novella, which is the length I was aiming for. Sometimes things work out according to plan. Sometimes.

Anyway, it’s a good story. Check it out. By mid-week or so, I’ll be posting a link to an HTML version of the whole story, perfect for reading on e-readers.

Hope you like it.

Later: If you’ve been having trouble leaving comments, it should be fixed now. If you have problems, please let me know.

Even Later: The e-book HTML file will be a little late. I laid it out and checked it on the Kindle, to see if the page breaks were right. I saw a typo on page three, and a historical inaccuracy on page four.

So, I’m thinking that one more read-through might be a good idea. I get these hunches from time to time.
