One:
I saw this article: “The Case for Black With a Capital B” at the New York Times website, and I think it’s right. I wrote about this back in 2006: “A Reader Writes.”
Two:
Okay, I don’t usually react well to things which are described as adorable.
I don’t usually embed videos.
I’m not really a big Taylor Swift fan.
[[Insert several more disclaimers here.]]
But I thought this was a hoot:
Why exactly is this not the actual video, as opposed to that other stupid thing?

I know this isn’t what your post is really about, but I’m not into all the hype surrounding Taylor Swift these days. Yeah, she has written a song about letting the haters hate, but so have many other singers. Yes, she is beautiful and classy, but so are many other singers. Her voice is nice but kind of mediocre, and yeah, she is adorable, but so are many other singers. However, I can imagine how it must feel for a singer to hear their own song on the radio and how they must be unable to resist singing along. 🙂
She is indeed a very ordinary singer, and the only song of hers that’s really grabbed me was “All Too Well,” but it is nice to see one teenage singer transition to adulthood by reducing the angst and increasing the humor, as opposed to by getting naked.
I’m not much of a Taylor Swift fan either, but that is a priceless video! I love him lip syncing along with her. 🙂
I had to overcome my… surprise that, after living here for about twenty minutes, she was selected as New York’s Global Welcome Ambassador. 🙂
